You don't have to sacrifice your lifestyle to save the planet.

It is commonly believed that committing to an eco-friendly lifestyle is all about making sacrifices. However, this is a misconception. Of course, giving up products and services that are harmful to the environment is an important part of going green, but you don’t have to miss out on anything. There are environmentally-friendly alternatives available to almost every product or service that would normally damage the environment. What’s more, green solutions exist to help you reduce the environmental damage of your other products and aspects of your lifestyle.

Energy and technology

Most of the electrical energy we use in our homes is generated by burning fossil fuels. As such, you may believe that you have to drastically reduce the number of electrical devices you use on a day-to-day basis in order to reduce your environmental impact. However, this isn’t necessarily the case: there are a variety of products available, such as solar chargers, that allow you recharge small electronic devices using renewable energy sources. You can also invest in larger-scale renewable energy solutions, such as micro-turbines or solar panels. There are also devices to help you use energy more efficiently, thereby reducing your carbon footprint. For example, here at Protect the Planet, one of the products we sell is a radiator booster that distributes the heat from your radiator more efficiently, thereby allowing you to run the device at a lower, more energy-efficient setting.

Transport

Owning and driving a car can have a huge impact on the environment, simply because cars burn fossil fuels. However, as you are doubtless aware, eco-friendly electric vehicles are increasingly commonplace. If possible, consider investing in an electric car.

Household goods

The biggest environmental problem with most household goods is that they are made from materials that have to be obtained in ways that damage the planet. For example, plastics are made from oils, while metals have to be extracted from environmentally-destructive mines. However, household goods made from recycled materials or materials that can be sourced in an environmentally friendly way are available. We sell a variety of homeware goods here at Protect the Planet.

We endeavour to provide green solutions for every area of your life, so that you don’t have to sacrifice your lifestyle to help save the environment. We sell homeware, energy-saving devices and even environmentally-sound garden products. In fact, the only thing we’ve mentioned in this blog that we can’t supply you with is the electric car! Remember: you don’t have to miss out on the products and activities you love in order to help the Earth.
